Estate & Planned Giving
Leave a Legacy of Peace
A planned gift can take many forms, all of which make a difference in people's lives, now and in the future. Planned Giving has become a popular option because it offers the opportunity to give to a favorite charity while realizing significant financial gains, thus benefiting both the donor’s needs and the goals of the charity.
Bequests
The simplest form of a planned gift is a bequest. Including Striving for More in your will is a way to carry your dreams and hopes into the future, while caring for children and families in need.
Sample language for a bequest is:
"I give and bequeath to Striving for More, Post Office Box 97443, Raleigh, NC 27624 the sum of $---------- [or all/or-------% of the remainder of my estate]. The Board of Directors may use the income or principal of this bequest for whatever purpose they deem advisable."
Charitable Lead Trusts
This is a trust agreement in which the income from the trust flows to a charitable organization for a stated number of years. After that period, the assets in the trust are redistributed to the donor or his or her family. The program also offers donors significant tax advantages.
Endowed Funds
Striving for More makes it possible to establish a fund in a family's name, or a fund to remember or honor friends and loved ones. In coordination with our staff, you can create an endowed fund for a special purpose and/or loved one’s memory. Endowed funds create lasting memorials that make a difference in the lives of children, year after year.
