Passion and Purpose

In June of 2009, I had the good fortune to have a meeting with Deidre Hughey of The Buzz Builder. During our meeting, Deidre told me about Albert Mehrabian's communications model. His research is summarized in the following way:

  • 7% of the meaning of your message is communicated in the words that you use.
  • 38% of meaning is communicated through the tone of your voice.
  • 55% of meaning is communicated through your facial expression.

Deidre highly recommended that I use video to relay my message about Striving for More. I took Deidre’s recommendation seriously.

In August, through a set of circumstances that I choose to see as divine providence, I met Frank Smith, an excellent professional videographer (and so much more) who immediately became committed to our mission and who dedicated himself to helping me.

I knew that I would not be capable of memorizing anything so I called upon my old friend Cindy Hamill who was one of my first roommates. After spending 20 years in TV news, Cindy is now a freelance writer, producer and narrator living outside of Philly. She did not even hesitate. Shortly after that conversation, Cindy and Frank were in our living room and the taping had begun.

It has been an incredible experience. Painful at times… it wasn’t fun to watch myself break down on the screen and trust me, there was much more in the uncut version.

It is now ready and I am very proud to be able to share it with the world. Please take some time to watch it. Forward this message. Share it with friends and family.

It is my hope that after watching this movie, you fully understand why I have been so passionate about the mission of Striving for More.

We are dedicated to ensuring that children with cancer and their families receive quality emotional and spiritual support.

With Hope,

Diane

    Diane,
Yesterday I self-published a A Sunflower Story & Journal. It is only available through my website www.many-colors-of-ink.com. I wouldn't even let Amazon sell it, they priced it too high. It is for cancer patients, I would rather it be given to a cancer patient. I priced it as low as I possibly could. I hope my book will help others, because some life events, you really can't go through it alone.

    My best to you,
    Ginny Roth
