Flamingo Flocking Tips
- Be sure that there is a “you’ve been flocked” flyer in the sleeve on the back of the sign. These flyers can be printed on the website.
- Flamingos should be counted when placed out.
- Do not feel that you need to place the flock in the yard if it is storming. We do tell people “weather permitting”.
- Make sure that you wait until after dark to place the flock if that is the person’s request. Be as quiet as possible.
- If the flocking is happening during the day, take a picture of the flock and send to your coordinator through your phone (if you have that capability and you do not have to pay extra)
- Be sure to locate the sign in such a way that the front of the sign is visible by cars driving by and the back of the sign is visible to the homeowner when they emerge from their home.
- Be sure to notify the person requesting the flocking when the flock has landed (check with the OUTPOST to see who will do this).
- Be sure to return to the house to remove the flock within 48 hours. It does not have to be (after dark) but make it close to that time to give as close to 48 hours as possible.
- Be sure that you collect two legs with each flamingo (Sometimes the legs slip out. Do not leave them in the yard.)
- Remember to remove the sign as well. Check to make sure that flyer has been removed (if it is still there, place it in the mailbox).
- Count the flamingos when removing them and be sure to notify the coordinator if you are unable to collect the same number of flamingos that you placed in the yard.
