Founder, President & Executive Director
Diane has more than 20 years of experience working for major telecommunications companies as a Business Analyst and more recently as a Project Manager. In June of 2008 her family’s life was tragically turned upside down when their 9 year old daughter, Colleen died of Osteosarcoma (a form of bone cancer). During Colleen’s 9 month battle with this disease, the family had Colleen cared for at three different hospitals and saw distinctly different levels of care in the area of emotional and spiritual support for children and their families. After Colleen died, thoughts of children struggling with life threatening and terminal cancers without proper emotional and spiritual support continued to haunt Diane. In October, Diane made the decision to research the issue more fully which led to the decision to create Striving for More and dedicate her life to its work.
Diane serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of Touched by Cancer Magazine. She also sits on the Board of Carolina Cancer Coalition and recently spearheaded the North Carolina Childhood Cancer Coalition to bring together all childhood cancer organizations, health care agencies and advocacy groups to work together more efficiently.
Diane also updates a personal and informative blog when her times allows!
Diane frequently is a public speaker who can come to your event and share information about Childhood Cancer, the work that Striving for More is doing or the efforts of Non Profit Development. Learn more here.
