Striving for More, Inc. will develop some of the items in the kit and some will require very specific purchases. However, most of the items can be purchased at local supermarkets or retailers such as the items found below.

Journal (Spiral bound with elastic band to hold pages closed) ~ To write down all of the things that the 27 people that visit you tell you that you want to share with your family and to write down the questions you want to remember to ask the next time that the doctor visits you. |

|
|
Planner (Weekly/Monthly; Showing Monthly overview and Weekly details) ~ A chemotherapy schedule can be pretty complicated. This will be used to track their child’s schedule as well as, daily tests and results. |

Highlighters ~ To highlight important parts of the reports that the doctors and nurses give the families to read. | |
|
|
Adhesive Lint Roller ~ Children going through chemotherapy lose their hair – all of it. Their head hair, their eyelashes, their eyebrows, and their body hair. Families use the lint roller to maintain comfort in the bedding and clothes during this hair loss. | |

|
Hypoallergenic Lotion ~ Dry skin is often a side effect of chemotherapy. Chemotherapy drugs can cause the skin to become dry, cracked and peeling. Lotions labeled perfume-free, allergen-free, or "for sensitive skin” is best to help soothe the skin. |

Mint Gum ~ Because the doctors wake you up at the crack of dawn before you haven’t had a chance to brush your teeth! | |

Flashlight ~ For the many times that the parent will be thankful that their child is sleeping but they will be searching for something in the dark hospital room. | |

Sleep Mask ~ Because your child is the priority and medical staff will be in the room frequently throughout the night and they turn the lights. The parent should be as well rested as possible to maintain their health. | |

Antibacterial Gel (Pocket Size) ~ A cancer parent’s pocket staple. | |

Adult Grip/Tread Socks ~ To allow the parents to take their shoes off and get comfortable without slipping and sliding. | |
